A fire broke out in Ramirez Canyon Saturday morning and was knocked down within an hour, Los Angeles County Fire Department officials confirmed.
The initial call came in at 9:59 a.m., reporting there were electrical wires down and a fire had started.
The fire began as a quarter of an acre and grew to half an acre, and firefighters had the blaze knocked down by 10:47 a.m. Fire department officials said the combination of the amount of firefighters on the job and the overcast weather helped extinguish the fire quickly.
Officials suspect the cause of the fire was the downed power lines, and Southern California Edison has been notified. There were no injuries and no structures were damaged.
