The following letter was addressed to Malibu Mayor Andy Stern.
I am 10 years old, and I have lived in Malibu all my life. I have a suggestion that will change Malibu for the better forever and ever.
I think we should have a parade on next July 4th. I know there are little parades, like at Point Dume. But we need a whole city parade.
The reasons are: 1. It’s the day of the birth of our nation; 2. It will bring all the people of Malibu together. Also, they can bring their pets; 3. Malibu can welcome everyone to celebrate the birth of our nation, freedom and the American Way.
We can close some streets. The students from all of our schools can march and play musical instruments if they like to. The fire department and Sheriff’s department can come and celebrate it, too. People can drive their classic cars. Also, the Malibu High School band can play, and we can have street performers.
All of this would be free for everyone to enjoy.
