In my 49 years living in Malibu, I have never felt a need to write to your paper previously; but I feel this has to be brought up.
Over the last five or six years, your paper has documented at least three encounters with the law involving Skylar Peak: One in which he was charged with assaulting a photographer; another when he was running around a shopping center in his bathing suit waving a child’s sword causing mayhem; and another when he was seen recklessly driving his vehicle around, finally crashing it, then leaving the scene of the accident.
It should be apparent to most citizens of Malibu that he isn’t capable of making good decisions for himself, let alone for our city. It appears that he misses as many council meetings as he attends. But of course he “calls in.” In The Malibu Times’ interview with Mr. Peak, he states that he would love to see the city with a fleet of electric vehicles by 2020. I hope he is never allowed to drive any of our city’s vehicles.
As for his running mates, though I voted for Mr. Wagner before, and know little about Mr. Mullen, I have to question their judgement for joining with Mr. Peak.
It appears that Malibu has it’s own Donald Trump — the worse he behaves, the more his followers like him.
