Reports came in Sunday morning of a power outage impacting areas of western Malibu, including Malibu West, Point Dume, Paradise Cove, and parts of Zuma, according to residents and local reports.
“The outage occurred at 9:53 a.m. on May 24 and was located southeast of South Ocean Drive to Pacific Coast Highway,” said Diane Castro, spokesperson for Southern California Edison. “Most customers were restored as of 12:15, with one customer remaining without power. The cause is under investigation as the crews are currently focused on restoring power as quickly and safely as possible.”
At this time, the cause of the outage remains under investigation. Castro said she is also working to provide an outage map, which will be shared once received.
