Malibu Rebuild Task Force to host online rebuilding information session

The Malibu Rebuild Task Force will host an online community information session designed to help Malibu residents navigate the rebuilding process and connect directly with experts on permitting, financing, insurance and other recovery issues on Sept. 15.

The “Own Your Rebuild” session will feature an expert panel that includes City of Malibu staff, local architects, building professionals and financial experts. Presentations will focus on recent efforts to streamline city processes, new online planning and permitting tools, septic and coastal property issues, insurance options, SBA loans and other funding resources, and grant-writing strategies for fire-hardening costs.

Organizers said the event is intended to provide practical information for homeowners while giving participants an opportunity to ask questions during an interactive panel discussion and Q&A.

The virtual session is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. and will be held via Zoom.

Residents can access the Zoom meeting through the link or QR code provided on the event flyer. RSVPs may also be sent to brmpoaprez@gmail.com.

The event is part of ongoing community efforts to help property owners move through Malibu’s rebuilding process more efficiently and understand the resources available to them.
