Approximately 300 guests attended Step Up on Second’s fifth annual Art Heals event at Santa Monica Art Studios in Santa Monica on Sept. 4. The event was an evening to benefit Step Up on Second and it featured the artwork of individuals living with a diagnosed mental illness. A record 40 artist members participated this year. For 24 years, Step Up on Second has been providing progressive psychosocial programs and services to individuals living with a mental illness and their families, working to lift the stigma associated with brain illnesses and providing hope and purpose for its members.
