Three students shared how the Malibu Rotary Club contributed to their life-changing experiences.

This summer, Grace Stickney became a Rotary exchange student to Japan. She stayed in the home of Ryota Shimada in Shizuoka, Japan.

Stickney started playing volleyball while in Japan and enjoyed it so much she intends to pursue the sport while at Malibu High School this year.

Ryota Shimada has been aware of Rotary Clubs for some time. His grandfather is a Rotarian in Japan. Shimada said he wants to learn to speak English and his involvement with the Rotary Youth Exchange helps that goal. For now, he has depended on Stickney to relay his experience.

Jaime Le was selected by the club to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Assembly in the San Bernardino Mountains. He said he looks forward to applying his leadership skills as he leads the Robotics Club at Malibu High School.
