National Park Service employees work to clear graffiti from the ruins of the Roberts Ranch house in Solstice Canyon last week.

Workers from the National Park Service removed graffiti from the ruins of Roberts Ranch house at Solstice Canyon on the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 3.

The house, which was destroyed by a fire decades ago, is a popular site for day hikes in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area, but has also become a target for graffiti. According to officials from California State Parks and the National Park Service, graffiti is on the rise at natural sites throughout Malibu.
