Pepperdine junior A.J. Puckett was named West Coast Conference (WCC) Pitcher of the Year on May 24, and three other Waves baseball players were also recognized with WCC postseason awards.

Puckett also earned All-WCC first team honors, Ryan Wilson and Manny Jefferson took home second team honors, and Matthew Kanfer was named to the WCC All-Freshman team.

Puckett is rewriting the WCC record books after posting a 0.40 ERA during conference play — the lowest number in the conference’s history. His overall 1.07 ERA has surpassed the WCC record and is currently the third-best in the nation. He is currently on the National Pitcher of the Year watch list.

The Waves are currently in the midst of postseason play at the WCC Tournament.
