Local real estate broker, family man and athletic enthusiast Brant Didden left the country on June 23 for a seven-week journey to climb K2, the second-highest mountain in the world, located on the Pakistan-China border.

According to an update on July 25, weather and route conditions have deteriorated, causing avalanches and rock fall. The forecast shows more snow ahead, so the group has abandoned the climb to K2. The group spent a few days packing up their base camp, and will head home after that.
