Bureaucratic madness

To close down a major well designed artery to allow parents to drop off school children in the morning and to retrieve them in the afternoon, while the rest of the community and commuters must endure the road closure for 24 hours seven days a week, is an example of bureaucratic madness. And if the concept wasn’t absurd enough, they instituted their test in the summer, when the children are out of school.

I’m certain we could find sophomore engineering students who could propose a better solution. Perhaps something as simple as a programmed signal light to operate during those critical hours would save us all a lot or grief and frustration. I’m surprised that our City Council members endorsed or went along with this proposal.

Three of our children began their schooling at, and matriculated from, Webster and survived without a scratch.
