On behalf of his peers and the staff at Point Dume Marine Science School, Hank Norby was selected for this year’s Citizenship Award. The fifth grader serves as the school’s environmental commissioner and helps with trash pick-up events and recycling drives.
“Of course, he is a team player but can step forward to be a leader when needed. He plays fair and wants to include others at all times,” his nomination stated.
He also excels academically, giving his best to whatever he sets his mind on.
Norby’s nomination also said, “He will quietly seek out a student who is feeling left out and try to encourage them to get involved. Hank always tries to do the right thing and takes responsibility for his actions.”
His classmates recognized him for being supportive and a problem solver.
