Good morning … I’m Hans Laetz reporting.

——

Traffic on P C H was at a dead stop for two hours this morning.Details: http://www.radiomalibu.net/traffic-stopped-today-on-pch/

——

Surf is up this morning.

Southern hemisphere energy … plus some Baja hurricane swell … is causing a flood of T-V live trucks this morning.

Also … some good surfing.

4 to 7 feet with local sets to 8 feet through Tuesday evening. the highest surf will be on south to southeast facing beaches such as Zuma Beach and near Long Beach.

Good spots are seeing waist-shoulder-head high waves, while top combo breaks hit overhead. Negligible winds equal clean conditions.

The tide hits a 3.6 foot high at 8 this morning … but then backs out to a low at 1:55pm.

——

There’s no word on what will happen to the Malibu Playhouse … after the tabloid journalists spread the press release that it has been sold to a rock and roll star.

The election mess we told you about last week is still being sorted out.

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk still counting.

So far … after election day … 83,267 Vote by Mail and Provisional ballots have been processed after Election Night … as of Friday night.

There are 139 thousand provisional ballots left to count … and 296 thousand Vote by Mail ballots that were mailed in on election day.

There is an informal hearing this afternoon … on the proposed cougar overpass in Calabasas is moving along.

This afternoon from 4 to 7 p-m … at the King Gillette Ranch Visitor Center … on Mulholland Highway just east of Las Virgenes Malibu Canyon Road.

The bridge would cost a little bit more than $60 million.

It would span over the 101 freeway just west of liberty Canyon Road in Calabasas.

It would link wild Parkland both to the north and south.

And it would provide what biologists say is a critical link for wild animals … most especially wild cougars … to enter and leave the Santa Monica Mountains national recreation area.

The open house is between 4 to 7 pm at the King Gillette Ranch Visitor Center … on Mulholland Highway just east of Las Virgenes Malibu Canyon Road.

And this morning … a motorist hit a large deer on the 101 freeway about a mile east of the proposed wildlife crossing.

The carcass ended up on the center divider on the 101 at Lost Hills Road.

Wildlife fencing on the freeway near the bridge may not be a bad idea.
