Divers and other lifeguards will resume the search for a missing swimmer near the Santa Monica Pier this morning.
Baywatch Malibu was one of several lifeguard units rushed to the beach yesterday at about 11 in the morning … when a swimmer was reported in distress.
Winds were strong and the ocean churning.
A helicopter assisted in the search.
Divers will be in the water this morning after 8 …looking for the body.

L A County has a major water project coming up on the one pipe that delivers water to Malibu,
The county plans to relocate a portion of pipeline on PCH between Temescal Canyon and Chautauqua Blvd.
Yesterday … county crews blocked one lane to test turning off an enormous valve … that sits under the highway.
It’s not clear when the major work will be dug.

State contractors have removed debris from nearly 150 residential properties in Los Angeles and Ventura counties as of this week.
The state Consolidated Debris Removal Program says they have cleared debris from 127 properties in Los Angeles County and from 21 parcels in Ventura County.
The crews are expected to begin implementing erosion control measures today on properties where all clean-up goals have been achieved.
CalRecycle and the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services are working on 844 properties – 276 of them in Malibu.
