Harvey Scales is one of the last remaining original Soul Men, if you ever saw the film soul man with Issac Hayes and Bernie Mac and saw Harvey Scales performing in that film, you could not help but agree. He recorded on Stax and Chess and more starting his career back in 1963 . He will be performing July 4th, in Milwaukee, WI with Malibu resident, Bibi Adell at Summerfest, The World’s Largest Music Festival, according to The Book of World Records, which is an annual festival nearly 50 years old, held on Lake Michigan. Last year the festival held nearly 840,000 goers, and lasted 11 days. Bibi has been known to handle emerging artists there and first began performing there in 2000, and then she was hired as a stage manager and entertainment buyer for several years incl. 2003 when the same grounds were used for Harley Davidson’s 100th year anniversary. Besides singing, dancing and playing of percussion with the great Soul Legend Harvey Scales (of Harvey Scales & The Seven Sounds), who wrote the FIRST platinum record in history, DISCO LADY, she also advances the careers of emerging artists by bringing them to labels she is affiliated with. Recently she cut a single with Moogstar formerly of Cameo that is expected to do very well in sales and promotion at the gargantuan festival which was just listed in TIME magazine this month (April 2014) as a top festival in the world, 1 of 14, that people should attend. In June, Harvey Scales will be back in Malibu to continue plans with Bibi, and by autumn she plans to be teaching voice lessons at the Malibu Park & Rec department, and has much wisdom and song to offer to the music students in Malibu ages 7 to 17.Â
