READ ALL ABOUT IT

Nancy Davis is celebrating an exciting, new chapter in her life with the release of her book, “Lean on Me: 10 Powerful Steps to Moving Beyond Your Diagnosis and Taking Back Your Life.”

When it comes to life lessons, Nancy has the subject covered. At 33, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Her doctors told her there wasn’t much she could do, but Nancy proved otherwise. In the past 14 years, she has raised millions to find a cure, designed a popular jewelry line and had twins.

Now, she’s sharing her story in an informative self-help handbook. “No matter who you are, you or a loved one will be diagnosed with a major illness,” Nancy said. “From identifying your fears, to finding the right doctor, to alternative therapies, this book teaches you how to empower yourself.”

Nancy’s famous friends snapped up copies of the book as they filed into the sleek confines of Norman’s on Sunset for a release party. It was an eclectic mix with old schoolers Ed McMahon and George Schlatter mingling with the likes of SNL alum Jon Lovitz, actress Anne Heche and TV talker Tony Danza.

Nancy was dressed in a black cocktail dress, which provided the perfect backdrop for her dazzling diamond bling. Mom Barbara sported a tailored black pantsuit while son Brandon arrived in (surprise!) jeans and a sweatshirt.

Hot topic of conversation? The theme of this year’s Race to Erase MS fundraiser. “It’s going to be disco,” Nancy explained. “People love to dance and we put together a great program.”

It will be a righteous affair indeed with Kool and the Gang, Sister Sledge and Natalie Cole. How’s that for Hollywood swinging?

“Dancing With the Stars'” Lisa Rinna was already in the spirit, busting a few moves on the outdoor patio. “Donna Summer is my disco idol,” she said. “Donna Summer and Cher.”

Byron Allen plans to pull out all the stops as a celebrity Superfreak. “I’m doing it right,” he said while patting his neatly bic-ed dome. “I’m going full-on with a ‘fro.'” Can you dig it?

With a celebrity crowd clad in everything from Afros to “Saturday Night Fever suits,” Race to Erase is always one sensational and successful soirée. The Nancy Davis Foundation raised more than $2.5 million in last year’s event alone-an accomplishment that leaves even her famous friends in awe. “Nancy is amazing,” marveled Tracy Danza. “She is an inspiration to us all.”
