The Malibu teams in the section 10, area E division of the American Youth Soccer League (AYSO) won big in early December.
The Boys U12 team—named Spicy Guacamole—advanced to the playoffs in Thousand Oaks on Dec. 9 and secured second place.
As The Malibu Times reported last week, the girls U12 Pink Jaguars team won all the matches, culminating in a 2-1 final match win. Next year, they will head to the state championship in Bakersfield.
Local resident Tabitha Alger shared, “Three families on the team lost their homes and the team was considered the underdogs of BU12, but they took it further than any other team in the boys U12 league!”
