The bones found on Monday in Malibu Canyon were identified today as those of Mitrice Richardson. Richardson, who would be 25, had been missing since September. She was last seen alive near the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station following an arrest at Geoffrey’s Malibu for an inability to pay an $89 bill.
Sheriff’s officials said at a press conference today that preliminary results show the remains could have been there from six months to a year.
Sheriff Lee Baca said there was no way to tell from the remains whether Richardson was the victim of a homicide. There is an ongoing investigation.
