Dr. Frank Ryan, a plastic surgeon to the stars, died in a car crash near Malibu Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Ryan’s Jeep Wrangler went off Pacific Coast Highway near Malibu and landed on its roof. He was declared dead after Ventura County rescue workers attempted to pull him from his Jeep. No cause of death has been determined as of Tuesday afternoon.
Ryan’s has worked on such celebrities as Heidi Montag, who underwent multiple cosmetic surgeries in one day, Lorenzo Lamas, Gene Simmons and Adrienne Curry. He appeared on television shows ranging from “The Bonnie Hunt Show” and “The Doctors” to “Nightline” and “Good Day L.A.”
Although he is most famously known for the 10 surgeries he performed on Montag in one day, Ryan, who was 50, was also known as a generous benefactor to local charities. His Malibu Bony Pony Ranch was host to fundraisers for the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation, which serves homeless children and their families, as well as other events.
