Brennan Tatem, a sophomore at Pepperdine’s Seaver College, died on Sunday, Nov. 23.
A cause of death was not released as of press time, but the university planned a vigil for Tatem on Tuesday evening.
“Brennan was very active in our community. He was a gifted student with a passion for music, and he also shared a love for his fraternity, Psi Upsilon,” the university said in a statement. “He was active in the Concert Choir, the Chamber Choir, and the Pepperdine Pickups. His choir director, Dr. Ryan Board, shared that Brennan was an incredibly talented student with a quiet humility and was loved by all his fellow students.”
Counseling support has been made available to students, staff and faculty at the school.
