Compass Welcomes Chris Cortazzo, #1 Agent from Coldwell Banker
Top-producing agent has sold more than $5 billion of real estate over his career
Compass, the real estate technology company, today announced that award-winning agent Chris Cortazzo joined the company from Coldwell Banker, part of Realogy Holdings Corporation. For the last 11 out of 12 years at Coldwell Banker, Chris has been named the #1 agent both nationally and internationally, as well as the #1 agent in Malibu & Southern California for the past 17 years. Most recently, Chris was ranked #3 nationally by individual transaction volume ($554,096,413) via The Wall Street Journal & REAL Trend’s “The Thousand: Best Real Estate Agents In America” for 2019.
With over $5 billion in sales throughout his career and currently holding a significant portion of Malibu’s market share, Chris is truly an expert when it comes to Malibu real estate. Notable Malibu listings currently held by Chris include a waterfront contemporary home designed by architect Guy Dreier asking $65 million, the 4.47 acre La Villa Contenta asking $62 million, and a newly constructed modern home on Carbon Beach asking $34.5 million.

Chris’ move comes on the heels of Compass’ $370 million Series G fundraise, bringing the company’s total capital raised to over $1.5 billion. The capital will accelerate the company’s investment in platform software and its exclusive Compass Concierge program, which empowers home sellers to sell their home faster and for more money by assisting with the cost of home improvement services like staging, painting and more, with no hidden fees and no interest charged.
