Over 500 participants exercised for a cause at Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology’s (GSEP) 2016 Coastal 5K/10K Run/Walk.
Runners and walkers of all ages gathered at Dockweiler Beach for the event, which raised funds to support GSEP initiatives through Los Angeles Foster Youth, including mentorship and tutoring for foster care children, therapeutic services through Community Clinics, and academic and wellness support to foster high schoolers through a college access program.
Each race participant — even those in strollers — received a medal to demonstrate that everyone is a winner. A special appearance was made by Pepperdine mascot Willy the Wave.
