Pepperdine University’s Foster Youth Higher Education Access Collaborative (FYHEAC) — a college access program that addresses the academic and wellness needs of high school foster youth and their families — received a $165,000 contribution from AT&T.

The FYHEAC pilot program will partner with the Lynwood Unified School District to provide 37 of the district’s foster youth and their families with skills, tools and environmental support to help the youths successfully graduate high school and attend college.

AT&T’s contribution was made as part of AT&T Aspire — a philanthropic initiative that promotes innovation in education to ensure that all students have the skills they need to succeed.

“We want to thank AT&T for their generous contribution to our FYHEAC program,” Helen Easterling Williams, EdD, Dean of Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology said in a release. “AT&T understands the importance of education and programs to help youth stay in school and succeed academically.”
