A while back, I read an angry reply from a woman regarding the photos of the dead mountain lion in the newspaper. While I was shocked at the photos, I thought that the woman may have been very passionate in her anger and aimed it in the wrong direction. It is your job to inform us of the important issues facing Malibu and the world but I feel that I may have sold this woman short. Once again, I find another disgusting photo of a dead or dying animal, in color, printed within your pages. What is with the morbid fascination to show these heartbreaking photos?
I’m a retired doctor. I’ve been to war and seen bloodshed. Not to equate those experiences with the photos, I just want to show that I don’t shock easily and this small town newspaper has shocked me. Is there no one with some decency on staff? Oh, by the way, I happened to see a horribly gruesome blood spot near Corral Canyon. Something big died there recently. If you hurry, you may be able to get your shot before the rain washes it all away.
