Watching the sun rise over the Malibu Pier

Windy weather will help keep temperatures cool by the beach in Malibu this weekend, with an anticipated high of 65 degrees, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Friday night temperatures will dip down to 57 degrees, with gusts of wind reaching between 10-15 mph. Strong wind speeds could reach up to 25 mph overnight.

A sunny Saturday is in store, with a high temperature of 65 degrees and moderate winds reaching up to 20 mph. 

Patchy fog is anticipated on Sunday morning through the early afternoon and a high of 63 is forecasted, before temperatures drop to 57 degrees after sundown.

Friday, April 17

A variety of works will be presented during the Pepperdine Guitar Department’s spring concert with Christopher Parkening, at 3 p.m. at the Malibu Library.

Authorities with the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station will conduct a checkpoint at an undisclosed location, beginning at 7 p.m. through 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 18.

Find your new furry family member at the Westside German Shepherd Rescue adoption event at Pacific Coast Pets at 10:30 a.m.

Celebrate the work of the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation at the 2nd annual Springtime Champagne Brunch, at The Malibu Jewish Center at 12 p.m. 

Dancers perform innovative and contemporary routines at the Northwest Dance Project, at Pepperdine University’s Smothers Theatre at 8 p.m. 

Sunday, April 19

Join motoring enthusiasts from around the world at 7 a.m. at Bluffs Park for Malibu Cars and Coffee.

Support Malibu local Lyon Herron with a silent and live auction, food and music by The Roman Helmets at Malibu West Beach Club, at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 each, and donations can also be made here.

Award-winning playwright Alan Aymie stars in “A Child Left Behind”, a one-person, one-night performance to benefit Autism Awareness Month, at the Malibu Playhouse at 3 p.m.
