Gabriela Kabrins, the 39-year-old daughter of longtime Malibu restauranteur Howdy Kabrins, was found dead in a hotel room in Cape Town, South Africa, according to British news website the Daily Mail.

Kabrins was a successful Los Angeles-based marketing executive.

The article states that Gabriela’s body was discovered Wednesday at the Camps Bay Retreat Boutique Hotel in Cape Town, and authorities believe she was murdered in connection to a drug session. A little over a pound of cocaine was also found in her room.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the suspected murder.

Howdy, whose popular burrito joint Howdy’s closed in the fall of 2014, has owned and operated restaurants in Malibu since the 1980s. He brought the original La Salsa to the PCH in 1987, and later opened Howdy’s Taqueria in the Malibu Country Mart in 1995.
