Between Dec. 14-27, 1,480 people were arrested for driving under the influence in Los Angeles County. During the same two-week period in 2011, 1,849 were arrested for DUI in the county.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has been conducting its DUI enforcement “Winter Holiday Campaign” during the past few weeks. Multiple DUI/driver’s license checkpoints, multiagency DUI task force operations and local roving DUI patrols have been a part of the countywide crackdown.
