The following incidents were reported between 12/28-1/17:

Fragrance folly

A total of 43 various fragrances, worth a total of around $4,000, were stolen from a makeup store in the Malibu Civic Center in broad daylight.

Perfume problem

Another six Prada perfumes were stolen from the same store where the Dec. 28 theft occurred. Store workers suspect the same perpetrators struck again.

Laptop larceny

A Toshiba laptop was stolen from a vehicle parked on Coastline Drive, while the owner took a short walk around the block.

Relaxed robbers

A woman arriving to her Las Flores Canyon Road vacation home saw two males inside the home, who fled when she demanded they leave. The home, which was unsecured and unoccupied since Nov. 7, was completely ransacked.

Gun grab

A pistol, handgun, magazine and holster were stolen from a house on Mulholland Highway in Malibu. The owner suspects house cleaners may have left a door unsecured.

Van villainy

A white 1997 Chevy Astro Van was stolen from PCH after it was left running with its keys in the ignition. The van’s owner was moving another vehicle parked directly in front of the van when someone jumped in and took off with the vehicle.

Business burglary

A glass door was smashed and cash register stolen from a PCH liquor store. Sheriff’s officials could not immediately determine how much money was taken.

Ring wrenched

A purse containing $1,000 cash and jewelry worth $140,000 was stolen from a 2015 Cadillac Escalade parked at a grocery store on PCH.

Car criminal

A purse containing a wallet, driver license, Disneyland annual pass and gift cards were stolen from a Nissan Cube parked outside a Civic Center retail store.

Car caper

Two purses containing cash, credit cards, a wallet and passport were stolen from a Nissan Altima parked on PCH.

Designer draw

A $10,000 Gucci purse was stolen from a car parked in a parking structure on Coastline Drive.

Double duty

Both passenger-side windows were smashed on a car parked on Cavalleri Road and a backpack, gym bag, Coach purse, checkbook and cash were stolen.

Glasses grab

A pair of eyeglasses and a pair of designer sunglasses, along with a MacBook pro laptop and purse, were stolen from a vehicle parked near El Matador State Beach.

Vehicle vandal

A gray Nissan Sentra parked overnight on a gated driveway on Grasswood was found in the morning with a large dent. A tree trunk with roots attached lay on the ground next to it. Sheriff’s officials suspect a vandal either lobbed the trunk over the gate or broke in to drop it on the vehicle.

Dental misdeed

A black rolling suitcase containing a Dell laptop and $35,000 worth of miscellaneous surgical and dental equipment was stolen from a vehicle parked on PCH.
