On Aug. 12, attorneys will attempt to settle the discrimination lawsuit between Mel Gibson and Deputy James Mee for anti-semitic statements Gibson made against the deputy during a DUI arrest in July 2006.

To ease traffic during the closure of the 405 Freeway from July 16-17, officials will reopen the closed southbound lane of traffic along Pacific Coast Highway between Temescal Canyon Road and Chautauqua Boulevard. The lane is currently blocked by concrete barriers called k-rails as part of the ongoing Coastal Interceptor Relief Sewer project. Officials will remove the barriers for Saturday and Sunday. Those forced to drive this weekend are encouraged to send pictures and video of “Carmaggedon” to knowles.adkisson@gmail.com, and The Malibu Times will publish them on its website.
