The 28th annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14 at Zuma Beach and will benefit the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles pediatric cancer research program.
Events scheduled for the triathlon weekend begin on Friday, Sept. 12, and include registration packet pickup’s and pre-race meetings.
On Saturday Sept. 13, guests can visit the spectator festival, which will include sandcastle demonstrations, instructional clinics and a family friendly “Fun Zone” with face painters and a photo booth.
Children can also be registered online to compete in a 50- or 100-yard dash with proceeds benefitting the hospital.
The main event begins early Sunday morning and spectators can watch the races from bleachers set up along the boardwalk near lifeguard tower 14 and also near the finish line.
Registration is sold out, but donations are still being accepted online.
