Veteran Hollywood reporter and author Bob Thomas, born in 1922, died at 92 years old.
For more than six decades, Thomas covered the Hollywood beat for the Associated Press. He also wrote more than 30 Hollywood biographies of the stars and studio moguls he interviewed, including Marlon Brando, Fred Astaire, Joan Crawford and William Holden.
He wrote several books with Walt Disney including “The Art of Animation.” Together with his daughter, longtime Malibu resident Caroline Thomas McGowan, he produced hundreds of Hollywood behind-the-scenes television shows.
Thomas died at home and is survived by wife Patricia Thomas, three daughters and three grandsons: Nancy Thomas Goff (her husband Kevin Goff and son Matthew), Janet Thomas and Caroline Thomas McGowan (her husband James McGowan and sons Ryan and Tristan).
Services will take place at Forest Lawn Hollywood, Saturday, March 22, at 3 p.m. A celebration of life memorial will take place in April.
