HOT, HOT HABANA NIGHT!
Longtime locals Cindy Crawford and her biz whiz hubby Rande Gerber hosted a fab pre-Fourth of July shindig for friends and family at Rande’s rocking Cafe Habana restaurant in Malibu.
The place had all the flavor of old Havana and and a mix of Puerto Rico with the guys sporting Panama brims and enjoying frosty mojitos made with lots of fresh mint and fortified with Rande’s new super-premium Caliche white rum.
It was a neighborhood reunion with Malibu peeps like Fran Drescher, Sean Penn, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin, as well as John Corbett and Daisy Fuentes.
Cindy dazzled in a shimmery summer top paired with black skinny jeans and sky-high booties. Fran kicked back in boho chic with stone washed denim and a colorful tie-dyed skirt.
Guests were treated to signature Cali Caliche cocktails including the Cali Kick, Cali Mojito, Cali Gold, Cali Libre and Cali Ginger, and snacked on lobster ceviche, Chicken Tinga Tacos, Caliche Braised Beef Gorditas and Cubano Sliders.
John was the first to arrive and last to leave with Rande and Cindy. The “Sex and the City” star turned out to be the life of the party, spending his evening bouncing from group to group, drinking Cali Mojitos and dancing with a few female friends to Michael Jackson’s “PYT.”
Though the party got an early evening start at 7:30 p.m., guests including John and Sean stayed late into the night, drinking and dancing until almost 2 a.m. On this night, there was no better place to watch pre-Fourth of July fireworks!
WHO’S THE BOSS?
Every year, Musicares selects one of the best music-makers around to honor as its “Person of the Year,” and this one is long overdue. Musicares is run by The Recording Academy, which also hosts the Grammy Awards. This year the big honor is going to top boss Bruce Springsteen. The man behind American classics like “Born to Run,” “Darkness on the Edge of Town,” “Born in the USA” and “The Promised Land” will be feted at its 2013 gala event.
The starry bash will take place two days before the Grammy Awards on Feb. 10.
The Boss’ latest album, “Wrecking Ball,” was released earlier this year and is considered a favorite for multiple Grammy nominations. Rock on!
