Girls tennis team: The team went 1-1 in league play for the week. Facing Oak Park on Oct. 19, the Sharks beat the Eagles for the second time this season. However, the girls suffered their first league loss of the year against Oaks Christian, making their next match against the Lions a very important one. Boys water polo: The team once again went 2-0 in league for the week. The Sharks handily beat both the Cate School and Nordhoff High School. Next up for the boys as they continue their quest for a league title and a high seed in the CIF playoffs are Villanova and Carpinteria.

Cross Country: The boys and girls teams had the most grueling runs of the year in the Mount Sac Invitational on Oct. 22. Senior Zach Hamilton placed among the top in his division, while other Shark runners performed well in their respective divisions.

Girls volleyball: The team went 2-0 for the week against tough opponents in Fillmore High School and Santa Paula High School. The girls continue their run for a league title and a bid to CIF playoffs in upcoming matches against rivals Grace Brethren and Carpinteria.

Football: The team lost a hard-fought road battle against Villanova Prep, falling, 20-14. The 1-5-1 injury-plagued team will have a much-needed week off, and then return to action on Nov. 5 in an away game against Grace Brethren. The Sharks will conclude the season at home on Nov. 12 against Santa Clara.
