To The Max
Funny man Ray Romano, supermodel Janice Dickinson and music maven Carol Connors celebrated the end of summer at the beachfront colony home of Suzan Hughes. Suzan, dressed in a sexy floral Cavalli, was busy launching her new latest workout essential called Rollermax.
To celebrate the occasion, bartenders were fixing up specialty drinks like the Roller Maximus, a lively combo of Rodnick Vodka, cranberry juice and triple sec as well as the Rollertini. Spinsters played dance faves like “Addicted to Love,” while servers made the rounds with quesadillas and crab cakes.
Some of the more casually dressed guests even got on the ground and gave the Rollermax a try. Suzan, meantime, swears by it. “It will roll all the tension out of your body,” she said. “Once you start, you don’t want to stop.” The product is already getting a big buzz, which means our enterprising hostess is definitely on a roll.
Looney for Clooney
Oscar Winner, Best Dressed, Sexiest Man Alive. As if talented George Clooney didn’t have enough honors to his credit, now he can add one more. On Oct. 13, the American Cinematheque will give gorgeous George an all-star salute at the Beverly Hilton. Half of Hollywood will be putting on their red carpet finest for the always enjoyable A-list affair. “George Clooney is truly a Renaissance man,” said AC Board Chairman Rick Nicita. “In a relatively short period of time, he has proven himself as an actor, director, writer and producer,” Nicita said. “He has charm, eloquence and good old-fashioned movie star charisma. His commitment to making the world a better place is reflected both on screen and off.”
The star of “Syrania,” “Ocean’s Eleven” and “Good Night, and Good Luck” joins a very prestigious list of previous AC honorees including Steven Spielberg, Sean Connery, Martin Scorsese, Tom Cruise and John Travolta.
Now that’s out of sight!
Mann About Town
Speaking of honors, Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman were on hand to salute Malibu neighbors Nancy and Dick Riordan at this year’s Alfred Mann Foundation Innovation and Inspiration Gala. The splashy bash took place at the Manns’ elegant Bev Hills estate. Revelers placed their bids on must-have auction items like a personal dance lesson by Paula Abdul before settling in for dinner and a performance by the Pointer Sisters. The evening raised a whopping $1.4 million for the Mann Foundation, which is dedicated to the exploration and development of advanced medical technologies.
