At least one big tree blew down overnight in Malibu.
Minutes before midnight … in the 25 thousand 100 block of Malibu Road … below the mansion known as Cher’s House.
Peak overnight wind gusts :
53 mph at Camp 8 (Upper Las Flores) at 4 am.
45 mph at Zuma Ridge at 3 am.
40 mph at Leo Carrillo Beach at 3am.
This was suppose to arrive at 3am.
Says the NWS:
Moderate Santa Ana winds will continue today. Advisories for Santa Anas expected to continue across Ventura and Los Angeles counties with a chance that the warning level gusts in the mountains may continue all weekend.

The Congressman who represents Malibu is trolling the president of the United States.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Congressman Ted Lieu is making fun of the president in official press releases … and even worse … on Twitter.
When Lieu mentions the president in a press release … there’s an asterisk next to Trump’s name … and a footnote.
The footnote states the President Trump lost the popular vote … is violating the U-S Constitution … due to massive conflicts of interests and his refusal to put his global business holdings in blind trusts.
The footnote also states Trump also benefitted from Vladimir Putin’s brazen Russian interference in the election … and cyber hacking campaign.
Yesterday … Lieu put out a tweet that said he was overcharged for a cup of coffee …

One of the largest office buildings in Malibu has been sold.
The building once housed the headquarters of Jakks pacific … a big toy importer and design company that has recently moved its headquarters to Santa Monica.
The company had been headquartered in the large office building … on a hill overlooking the pier .. behind McDonald’s … since its founding in 1995.
That office building … at 22-619 Pacific Coast Highway …. has just been sold to LaSalle Investment Management … based in Chicago .
The 36,500-square-foot complex … has patios and ocean views.
It sold for $28 million to LaSalle.
It hd just been sold for $20 million in 2015.
LaSalle is apparently the same company that had purchased the Trancas County Market more than a decade ago.
It sold that land to the present owner …. a WalMart family heiress … after holding it as an investment for a few years.

A shootout of sorts is pending at Santa MOnica Airport.
A small charter jet company … JetSuite … is planning to launch daily commercial passenger service out of Santa Monica Airport on February Sixth.
One plane … two flights a day … northbound to the Bay Area … southbound to Carlsbad in San Diego County … and it makes a weekend loop to Las Vegas,
The city of Santa MonIca owns the airport … the terminal … the parking lot.
And they say “no way.”
The city has rejected JetSuite’s application to operate out of Santa Monica.
JetSuite showed no signs of retreat.
It’s selling tickets.
The airline president tells the Argonaut newspaper … quote ….
“We’ve got a federal right to operate there, and that’s our stand.”
Not legal … says the city.
There are four or five separate lawsuits or lawsuits already filed in federal and state courts over Santa Monica Airport operations.
Expect restraining orders soon.

Southern California’s drought is NOT over.
These storms have dumped enough rain or snow to take nearly half of California out of drought conditions.
But there are some places that just haven’t gotten much rain.
Take for example the Santa Barbara suburb of Goleta.
85 percent of the Goleta water comes form Lake Cachuma … but the coastal mountains have created a rain shield …
The area around Lake Cachuma is still considered to be in drought, as are parts of Ventura, Los Angeles and Kern counties, according to the U.S. Drought Report.
Santa Barbara Airport has received more than 8 inches of rain in just the last three weeks.
Just about half that amount has fallen near Lake Cachuma.
Inland portions of Los Angeles County have also remained in drought conditions.
Places like the Antelope Valley.
More than 11 inches of rain have fallen at the Santa Fe Dam in Irwindale since Jan. 1, but only 1.84 inches have fallen on Palmdale on the other side of the mountains.
