Development not a dirty word

I want to personally thank the Malibu Bay Company for providing me with all the information regarding its plans for developing Malibu. With full page ads saturating every local newspaper and large glossy flyers falling out of the L.A. Times, I’m finally getting the kind of information I need to be a responsible and engaged citizen of this town. It’s great to know that the Bay Company has so many special messages for the citizens of Malibu. I’m particularly fond of the latest one, No. 5, entitled Limited Development / Maximum Public-Benefit. With a comforting title like that, I didn’t need to read much further. Why would I expect less from the Malibu Bay Company? After all, this is an agreement that our own very independent Mayor Tom Hasse negotiated behind close doors with one of the wealthiest developers in Southern California, a true clash of the Titans. I’m eagerly looking forward to more information from the Malibu Bay Company in their seemingly endless series of Special Messages. After all, they’ve whittled their own plans down from a whopping 629,000 square feet of development to a modest 300,000 or so square feet. So what if that’s roughly equivalent to THREE Malibu Colony Plazas gracefully situated along our coast?
