The Malibu Ballet and Performing Arts Society’s Outreach Program is giving the gift of a free performance and transportation to “The Nutcracker” performed by Dance for Kids, at Pepperdine University’s Smothers Theatre.
Approximately 500 children will be bused in from four surrounding elementary schools. The “Maid of Sweets” act includes three special guest performers who were awarded this opportunity after being recognized as children deserving something special in their lives.
Two girls, first and fifth graders, are from Piru Elementary School, and the other is a young girl from Ethiopia who is part of the “Mending Kids” program. The free performance for the children will be Friday, December 12th at 10 a.m. Other performances open to the public are scheduled for Dec. 12, 13 and 14.
