Students Win Physics Contest

A team of Malibu High School students won the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest, an annual national competition in practical physics. The contest promotes an element of lightheartedness by encouraging humorous submissions, but also promotes the importance of science, technology, engineering and math programs.

According to the contest website, a winning entry is intended to be an “overly complex contraption, designed with humor and a narrative, to accomplish a simple task.”

The MHS team won with a contraption that celebrated unique landmarks in the Los Angeles area.
