Former Malibu resident Marian Wilson died in her sleep on May 11. She was 77.
Wilson was born Dec. 25, 1930 in Calgary to Rolf and Gustava Ingemann. She lived there until age 19, when she left to attend Loma Linda University School of Nursing in California. She graduated with a degree in nursing in 1953.
Wilson worked for a short time as an operating room nurse and then in a clinic setting. In the late 1970s, she worked for the Ventura County School District as a school nurse, most recently in 1977 at Ventura High School.
In 1955, she married Harvey Wilson. They had one child, Fynn.
For 10 years, the Wilsons lived in Malibu on Latigo Shore Drive. They relocated to Ventura in 1966.
Wilson was active in community affairs and church activities. She was also artistic and an accomplished seamstress and gardener.
Wilson was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ruth and infant brother, Finn. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Harvey; son and daughter-in-law, Fynn and Cindy, and grandchildren, Jasmine and Finn.
A memorial service took place in Ventura on Saturday.
