Meals on Wheels West will host a fundraiser for its Delivering More Than a Meal program on Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m.
The organization services cities on the westside including Santa Monica, Venice, Pacific Palisades, Topanga and Malibu.
The Delivering More Than a Meal program offers earthquake kits in addition to hot prepared food. The program targets residents on the westside who are unable to purchase healthy meals due to disability or illness. Priority is based on income but no one is turned away from the program.
The organization is supported by donors and volunteers.
“We know that without the year-round support of generous individuals, local business and other donors, we wouldn’t be able to provide our Delivering More Than a Meal program that our clients rely upon,” Executive director Chris Baca said in a statement provided by the organization.
The Halloween-themed Monster Bash fundraiser will host all supporters of the organization for a grownup costume party at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.
Attendees will be able to participate in casino games, a silent auction and a costume contest. Prizes range from a staycation at the Loews in Hollywood to tickets to the Laugh Factory.
