Since 1833, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and its many volunteers, called Vincentians. have helped make Christmas much brighter for thousands of disadvantaged and homeless children, families and individuals. St. Vincent de Paul and its volunteers assist the less fortunate with love and compassion throughout the year.
This Christmas, the Society expects to assist approximately 50,000 individuals (nearly 35,000 being children) throughout the counties of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Ventura, as well as portions of the Inland Empire.
These individuals will be assisted through St. Vincent de Paul’s Adopt-A-Family program (underprivileged families with special needs are adopted by sponsors), toy distribution (gifts provided for children) and holiday food baskets (all qualified applicants receive these baskets).
However, the Society can’t accomplish this feat without your generous donations of new and unwrapped toys, canned and non-perishable food items and financial gifts to help the poor during Christmas. One hundred percent of your financial gift goes towards the intended purpose, as there are no administrative costs.
Without the generosity of the donors and the Society’s volunteers, it would be impossible for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul to help those in need. Donations of new toys, food items and financial gifts are greatly needed and appreciated.
Please remember those who can’t help themselves this holiday season, and donate to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. For more information, please call 800.974.3571, ext. 273; 323.224.6273 or e-mail bpick@svdpla.org.
May God Bless you and your family during this blessed time of the year.
