Malibu Locals Compete in LA Marathon

Sixteen-year-old Malibu Lake local Sangita Stehle completed her first marathon in four hours and 39 minutes on March 15 during the Los Angeles Marathon.

Coached by local running legend “Barefoot Alberto” Perusset, both runners are members of the Malibu Runners Club that gathers at Trancas and PCH every Saturday at 8 a.m.

“Barefoot Alberto” ran the race without shoes in five hours and eight minutes, completing his 56th barefoot marathon and 95th marathon overall. Stehle and “Barefoot Alberto” are planning to run their next marathon on May 3 in Orange County.
