Junior Blind, a nonprofit dedicated to helping children who are blind, visually impaired or multi-disabled achieve independence, honored Finish Line Youth Foundation for its Legacy Grant of more than $65,000 in a dedication ceremony on July 28. The money went to renovating the aquatic center at Camp Bloomfield, located in Malibu.

The aquatic center is frequently used by Camp Bloomfield campers and, for many campers, it’s where they first learn to swim. The pool features adaptive athletic equipment, including LED noodles, rubber balls with bells inside and other toys that include sound to encourage water sport activity. There is an ADA-compliant lift to allow children with additional disabilities to access the pool safely.

The re-opening took place during a family camp session.
