Los Angeles County Sheriff’s arson investigators are looking into a suspicious vehicle fire in Malibu. The incident happened last Wednesday evening on Cliffside Drive in Point Dume.
There was an initial unsubstantiated report that a truck was set ablaze with anti-Semitic logos near the crime scene even though the residents are not Jewish. However, Detective Ed Nordskog with the Sheriff’s Arson and Explosives detail told The Malibu Times, “It doesn’t appear to be a hate crime at this time.”
Investigators are looking over a security tape from the residence and say they currently have a potential suspect or more in the case, possibly teenagers. Nordskog described damage to the truck as “minor.” The victims have ordered a security guard for their property.
