Squeals of joy could be heard all the way to PCH from those attending A Walk On Water’s (AWOW) last surf therapy event for the season at Surfrider beach on Saturday, Nov. 11. Volunteers, friends and family found their way to the water’s edge where young athletes grabbed the hand of an AWOW surf instructor and slipped on a surfboard to catch some waves.
More than 115 athletes participated in surf therapy heats, while 200 volunteers and 40 experienced instructors helped them safely navigate the waves.
