JV sharks earn win Sharks baseball lose nailbiter

The Malibu High School varsity Sharks baseball team lost their first game of the year 9-8 to Windward High School last week, giving them a 7-1 record.

Jordan Simon and Evan Anthony each had three hits, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Windward, which scored 9 runs. After a wild first inning when Windward scored four runs off of defensive miscues, the Sharks came back to score five of their own. Malibu took a 8-6 lead going into the seventh inning, but then gave up three runs and went to the bottom of the seventh down by a run. The Sharks rallied in the last inning, but in the end the Sharks could not pick up a clutch hit to win it.

JV Sharks shut out Windward, remain undefeated

The JV Sharks baseball team beat Windward High School 11-0 last week and kept up its undefeated record.

In a shortened game lasting only 3 2/3 innings, freshman pitcher Andre Simoneau allowed only a bloop to right in Windward’s last at-bat of the game.

Simoneau had three strikeouts allowing no hits and no walks.

Sophomore Nick Anthony went two-for-two, with two walks, two RBIs, a single and a booming triple to deep left.

Freshman Bronson Bard had two doubles and four RBIs.
