UCLA Health’s Malibu office now features a mix of new and familiar faces with the arrival of Dr. Aimee Ostick to join the existing physicians and support staff in taking care of the Malibu community.

Dr. Ostick is a family physician with nearby ties to the community. She grew up in Woodland Hills and attended Santa Monica College and then UC Berkeley before completing her medical training at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Her medical interests include women’s health, adolescent well-being and geriatric health.

She joins three other physicians in the practice, including the father-daughter team of Drs. Scott and Ashley Bateman and Dr. Milica Simpson.

Dr. Scott Bateman is the most senior physician in the office, with over 40 years of experience in family medicine. He began practicing in the Malibu community in 1978, after completing his family-medicine residency at then Santa Monica Hospital. He has served several terms as chief of staff at the hospital, now called UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, and is a fellow of the American Board of Family Medicine. He is also an avid equestrian in the Malibu community.

His daughter, Dr. Ashley Bateman, moved to the UCLA Health Malibu office after practicing family medicine four years at UCLA’s Thousand Oaks primary-care office. She focuses on preventive health, adolescent well-being and mental health, women’s gynecological care and general wellness. She also performs in-office procedures, including joint injections, skin biopsies, IUD insertion/removal, colposcopy, endometrial biopsies, splinting and casting.

Dr. Bateman has two daughters and one has already started riding horses with her grandfather.

The final member of the Malibu medical team, Dr. Simpson, is board certified in internal medicine and pediatrics. She takes care of a wide range of patients, from newborns to the elderly and those in-between. She also emphasizes preventive health and strives to partner with patients to help them achieve optimal health and wellness. Born and raised in Southern California, Dr. Simpson earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan and her masters and medical degrees from Georgetown University. She started practicing in Malibu after completing her residency training at UCLA.

UCLA Health’s Malibu practice offers comprehensive care and same-day appointments for all ages in a family-friendly environment. The practice also includes onsite imaging, laboratory services and behavioral health. Its myUCLAhealth patient portal grants access to online appointment scheduling, text and email reminders, lab results and secure messaging to physicians.

Additionally, patients have access to UCLA Health’s network of top specialists in the region, “best in Los Angeles” hospitals and walk-in urgent-care centers to complement their physician’s availability.

The office is located at 23815 Stuart Ranch Road, suite 300. For more information, visit www.uclahealth.org/malibu or call (310) 456-1668.
