SUMMER CELEBRATION
It was kick-back cool as celebrity swimsuit designer Shay Todd and beauty giant Nivea hosted a rocking bikini bash at a private estate on Point Dume. The happening poolside party was awash in Nivea’s signature colors, with blue and white beach balls, cabanas and a bevy of beauties in itsy bitsy blue and white bikinis.
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian made several wardrobe changes, showing off her awesome abs and killer curves. Kim got ‘N Sync with Hollywood pals like Lance Bass and actress Emmy Rossum, who joined her for the fun-filled fling.
It may have been a casual barbeque, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t throw some fabulous fashion into the picture. Emmy went nautical in blue shorts with navy-and-white stripes. Songbird Taylor Dane arrived in a breezy green-and-tangerine maxi dress, while style guru Steven Cojocaru sported a crisp white blazer paired with a graphic Louis Vuitton scarf. Stylish gals favored eye-popping prints and platforms while cool cats like Leo Gallo went for Bermuda shorts and classic Panama brims.
It was a perfect day to lounge around on beanbag chairs, hit the waterslide and listen to KCRW DJ Mathieu Schreyer spinning everything from R&B to Italian rap.
Upon arrival, our hosts made sure we were well equipped with fluffy Nivea towels, loads of sunscreen, lip-gloss, moisturizer and even Frisbees. The barbeque brigade was out in force, grilling up fresh veggies as well as summer favorites like juicy dogs, burgers and icy rum punch to wash it all down.
Kim posed for pics with an impressive array of well-toned Nivea and Shay Todd models, while hipsters like Justin Murdock waded through a sea of beautiful, young faces and super sexy bods.
The day wrapped up with a fine acoustical set by Randi Coleman. There couldn’t be a better start to the sunny season; so let those lazy days of summer begin.
TASTE OF THE SEASON
There’ll be more chilling and grilling at Fox Studios on July 18 as The Saban Free Clinic hosts its annual “Extravaganza for the Senses.” Now in its 12th year, the glorious graze-a-thon offers some of the city’s tastiest treats. Foodies will feast on mouthwatering seafood from Chez Jay, succulent barbeque ribs from Mr. Cecil’s, world famous prime rib from Lawry’s, Indian specialties from Bombay Café and Italian bites from Lago. The delicious ‘do will feature 40 restaurants and 100 wineries in all. Last year’s event raised more than $200,000 to provide free health care and social services to those in need.
It’s a great way to help a good cause, so bring your appetite and get ready to dig in.
