Malibu Little League Majors Phillies pitcher Miles “Biggie” Murray pitched four shutout innings, helping to lead his team to a decisive 9-1 victory against the Beverly Hills Little League Champion Mets during the Tournament of Champions game at Culver Marina June 12. In addition to his shutout innings as starting pitcher, Murray allowed only one hit and no walks throughout the game. He also hit a strong home run far over the left field fence and had a total of four RBIs in the winning game. In the recent Malibu Little League championship game, Murray batted a key single and scored the game-tie run in the last inning, ultimately leading to the team’s 5-4 victory. Murray was the Malibu Little League’s best pitcher this season, leading the league with six wins on the mound. He was also the Phillies’ co-captain, helping lead the team to the championship as its best pitcher and one of its top hitters.
