Pepperdine women’s golf came off a great week winning by nine strokes as Grace Na won her second consecutive title at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic with a career-best score Wednesday (11-under).
Ranked eighth in the league, the Waves finished 6-over 870 (290-287-293) at the par-72 Kapalua Bay Course, which put them nine strokes ahead of seventh-ranked Washington. This was Pepperdine’s third title of the season.
“Everybody played really solid,” Pepperdine Coach Laurie Gibbs said in a Pepperdine press release. “Everyone contributed, and obviously Grace’s 11-under was a huge help. We’ve been making great progress this spring. We know how to win and how to close out rounds. The Bruin Wave was a big step, knowing that we beat some good teams. We were very confident today, and we knew we could go out there and win, even though Washington is a great team.”
Na shot below par for three rounds and won her sixth title, which puts her in second for all-time Pepperdine victories trailing only Katherine Hull, who has seven titles.
This event wrapped up the regular season for the Waves, who now move on to the West Coast Conference Championships on April 14-16 in Bremerton, Washington. The Waves have won 12 WCC titles in a row.
